BEHIND THE BARS: THE HISTORY OF THE PEEL COUNTY JAIL

PROJECT STORY
Story Factory Studios collaborated with Elsonstudio on the new permanent exhibition at Peel Art Gallery Museum and Archives (PAMA), Behind the Bars: The History of the Peel County Jail. As the jail is a designated heritage site, we were unable to affix anything to the historical wall, ceiling or floor.  A design solution was developed using pressure-fit columns that carried a series of blue bars, meant to evoke the cell bars, while bringing a contemporary and engaging colour into the space. Direct-printed panels were affixed to the bars, and included interactive lift-panels, images, quotes and text.
